Mirichi Farmers' Cooperative Society

Mirichi Farmers Cooperative Society Limited (FCS Code: XAD17), located on the southern slopes of Mount Kenya in Kirinyaga East, Central Kenya, was established in 1963. The cooperative has two wet mills, Rianjue and Mburi, and serves over 1,600 active farmers, each managing small farms averaging 0.3 hectares. Coffee varieties include SL28, SL34, and some Ruiru 11, grown on rich volcanic soils at 1,600–1,800 meters above sea level with 1,300–1,700 mm annual rainfall.

Coffee is hand-picked, wet-processed with clean river water, sun-dried, and milled before being marketed locally and internationally. The cup profile features citrus and fruity aromas, pleasant acidity, and hints of chocolate. Mirichi is Flocert-certified, maintains nurseries for sustainable farming, and continues to improve yields through quality-focused projects.

Bringing Quality to the World: Marketing & Distribution

Our work doesn’t end when the coffee is milled. We are dedicated to ensuring these exceptional beans reach customers who appreciate their quality. Our marketing efforts cater to a diverse range of clients by offering both micro and bulk lots.

Through our strategic marketing, we connect our farmers’ hard work directly with the global coffee community, ensuring that their dedication is recognized and rewarded. Every lot, regardless of size, undergoes stringent quality control to uphold our promise of excellence.

Micro lots

Micro lots are smaller, carefully selected batches that showcase the unique characteristics of a specific farm or co-operative society. These are perfect for roasters and buyers looking for distinctive and exclusive coffee profiles.

Bulk lots

Bulk lots allow us to provide a consistent, high-quality product on a larger scale, meeting the demands of bigger distributors and roasters worldwide.
