01 Society Profile

Rooted in Kirinyaga East's red soils

Rungeto FCS was registered in 1997 and unites 7,526 farmers in Kirinyaga East. Its three factories — Kii, Karimikui and Kiangoi — draw from gardens at around 1,900 m, the highest in the Union. Fairtrade and C.A.F.E. Practices certified, Rungeto delivered 534.1 tonnes of clean coffee in 2025/26, the largest volume of any member society.
